Our History
We Are Dublin Town is a not-for-profit, business-led organisation working to create a welcoming and economically viable city centre. We represent more than 2,500 businesses across Dublin city centre and work in partnership with local stakeholders to support a strong, vibrant trading environment.
Our Role
We aim to improve the appeal of the city centre as a place to shop, work, and spend time — by supporting footfall, enhancing the public realm, and helping businesses succeed collectively.
We are the organisation behind DublinTown.ie and are responsible for delivering many of the initiatives people recognise, including the Christmas Lights in the city centre, Dine in Dublin, the Dublin Town Food & Drink Festival, and the Dublin Fashion Festival.

Differences from the Dublin Council
Not-for-profit and Independent
Dublin Town is a not-for-profit, business-led organisation representing city centre businesses. We are not part of Dublin City Council.
Focused on Additional Services
We deliver services and initiatives that sit outside the Council’s core responsibilities, including reactive cleaning, business support, training, and city initiatives.
Responsive and Targeted
Our work is shaped by the day-to-day needs of businesses in the district, allowing us to respond quickly and focus on specific local issues limited to the Dublin City Centre.
Working in Partnership
We work closely with Dublin City Council, An Garda Síochána, and other public bodies to coordinate efforts, while operating independently as an organisation.
